The TLC Business Christmas Celebrations

The TLC Business team ushered in the festive period at the enchanting Lainston House, indulging in a delightfully un-festive meal. Amidst lively conversations and laughter, we delved into the joy of Secret Santa and taking part in a questionable game of Cards Against Humanity.

A big thanks to Lainston House for orchestrating a magical Christmas night – their staff’s dedication made it a special evening.

TLC Team Day Out

After tucking into some delicious burgers at 7Bone, the TLC team transformed into world-class detectives and headed over to Locked in a Room Southampton to solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Professor S. Pottenger. After enjoying the experience so much last time, the team wanted to try their hands at solving the harder challenge. This time, we split into 3 different groups (The Winners, The Real Winners, and The Actual Winners) and went head-to-head in the Parallax rooms.

Despite the successful escape rate being just 50%, all 3 teams managed to escape within the hour! We all came out feeling like winners – especially ‘The Actual Winners’ team – who really did win… The subject is still a sore point for the other two teams!

We’d like to thank 7Bone and Locked in a Room Southampton for making our team day out so fun, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Now we are turning our thoughts as to what to do next time, any ideas?

The Greatest Scientists Solving a Great Mystery

On Monday, the TLC team visited ‘Locked in a Room’ in Southampton. We split into 2 groups and put our greatest scientific minds together to solve the greatest mystery – the kidnapping of Professor Samuel Pottenger!

Although both teams were extremely strategic (and competitive), the ‘A team’ beat the ‘Josh’ team by a minute! Both teams escaped within the hour and Pottenger’s research was saved after all.

TLC’s Return To Laser Tag

Yesterday, the TLC team met at a top-secret, undisclosed location in Hampshire to settle old scores and resume our annual laser tag shenanigans.

While we can’t disclose which team came out on top (it’s still raw and currently in review), we had a great time and can thoroughly recommend New Forest Activities in Beaulieu.

We all took it very seriously, as you can see…

Advantages of working remotely

This remote working has its perks! Caroline, our Senior Graphic Designer, has been working from France the last few weeks. Not a bad view!

TLC Complete the Tree Top Challenge!

Team TLC recently met for a day of fun and adventure at Go Ape, situated in the beautiful Itchen Valley Country Park. Following a safety briefing, the team set off along the high ropes, swinging, climbing and zip-lining between the trees! We then tucked into a delicious BBQ lunch in the sun. Recharged and raring to go, we then took part in an outdoor escape room that saw us work together to solve puzzles and riddles to save a monkey, who had been kidnapped by poachers. We all had a great time, meeting face-to-face once again and we were over the moon to hold the record for the fastest escape room time!

Team TLC try archery!

Team TLC met for the first time since July to practice some Covid-secure archery and axe throwing with Insight Activities at a beautiful woodland in Fordingbridge. After safety briefings and instructions, the Team set off to try and hit the targets using bows, axes, and even crossbows! Luckily, no one got an arrow to the knee and it was a great day out, with the team getting to speak face-to-face and meet our newest member Filip!

#StayHome – How Team TLC have gone remote

It’s business as (un)usual for Team TLC. Like many other businesses, we packed up our laptops and made the move from the office to our living rooms last month.

For a team that’s used to collaborating face-to-face on a constant basis, working from home has been a tough but useful adjustment. As a result, we’ve been holding a daily Zoom call each morning to catch up and put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Since the move, we’ve been setting up our new workspaces and enjoying the extra time spent with our pampered pets. They’re proving to be a popular topic in the team WhatsApp and make great quality control managers as they keep a watchful eye over our work!

We’re here to help

While we settle into the new norm, we’ve been making some changes to our service offering to ensure we can continue to help our fellow SMEs with marketing support during this challenging time. As a result, we’ve switched to virtual Marketing Ideas Sessions with regular slots available to book for free over the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the team, our phone lines and emails remain open. Get in touch with us on 01962 600147 or info@tlc-business.co.uk.

From all of us, stay safe and keep well.
